These TURBA pellets made of dehydrated peat are ideal for sowing or transplanting flower and vegetable plants, as they provide a suitable environment for germination and root development once rehydrated. Since they are 100% biodegradable, there is no need to remove them during repotting or planting, which avoids disturbing the roots and facilitates recovery. Sold in packs of 25 units.

Compressed peat pellets have many advantages: they are compact, easy to store, and allow early-season indoor sowing, which is very useful when growing vegetables or flowers with slow growth. They are also particularly well-suited for plants with fragile roots that do not tolerate handling and transplanting well. Made from responsibly harvested peat, TURBA pellets are environmentally friendly and naturally degrade once planted in the ground. In these pellets, high-quality moss is surrounded and held together by an expandable, biodegradable net. Once rehydrated, the peat expands and absorbs moisture while allowing air to pass through. Placed in a heated atmosphere, it recreates an ideal environment for seed germination. The young rootlets of seedlings will have no difficulty developing in this well-aerated, moist, and warm fibre.

Soak the TURBA pellet in water and let it swell. Within a few minutes, you will have a 4cm (2in) diameter and height plug that you can use immediately. Sow one seed per pellet if possible, in the small recess that appears in the center of the cylinder. Use tweezers for very fine seeds, or place a tiny pinch of seeds that you can thin out once the seedlings have emerged. This technique is suitable for propagating all plants that are suitable for plug production. It can be used for sowing flowers or vegetables, as well as for small cuttings. As soon as the rootlets appear through the net, you can directly repot or plant the whole thing in the ground, which facilitates recovery.
