The hedge shear is a kind of large pair of scissors that is used to cut green branches and foliage of hedges. The garden shear is made up of two steel blades extended by a non-slip handle. It is the essential tool for pruning your thuja, hornbeam, beech, laurel hedges... 

To prevent transmitting diseases to your hedges and to increase the lifespan of your tool, make sure to maintain the blades between each pruning. Using a cloth soaked in alcohol, vigorously clean the blades to remove any sticky sap. Use a sharpening stone to keep the blades sharp. Finally, oil the friction areas to improve the tool's efficiency, so you will spend less energy pruning your hedges!
