Our range of Edelweiss (Leontopodium). These iconic plants of the alpine mountains, nicknamed "Star of the Snow", are valued for their cold resistance and unique appearance. The most famous species is Leontopodium alpinum, known as Edelweiss. This perennial plant is recognisable by its star-shaped flowers, covered with wooly white hairs that have a silvery appearance. The variety 'Mont Blanc', which offers slightly larger flowers, is ideal for rock gardens. Leontopodium alpinum ‘Blossom of Snow’ is characterised by particularly abundant flowering, making it perfect for high-altitude gardens.
Edelweiss prefer poor, well-drained soils and sunny exposure. They tolerate low temperatures well and require very little maintenance.
