Biodegradable mulch fabrics

The mixture of hemp and flax is a natural mulching solution for the garden or vegetable patch. It comes in the form of a roll of thick and sturdy plant-derived fabric, which allows for easy and quick installation. Its 100% plant origin provides all the benefits of mulching - preventing weed growth, saving water, increasing temperature, keeping the soil clean, promoting soil biodeiversity - while being 100% biodegradable. It can be used in organic farming.

This type of mulch is applied in spring, on carefully prepared, weeded, loosened, and enriched soil. It will help the soil warm up more quickly and the plants to root faster. Made up of 70% hemp and 30% flax, it will decompose within a few months (up to a maximum of 2 years), while enriching the soil and improving its structure. This plant-based fabric, before and during its decomposition, promotes and stimulates essential microorganisms and insects for soil health. It is a sturdy but lightweight material that does not compact the soil and allows air and water to pass through.

Once your trees and bushes have established themselves, approximately two years after planting, the hemp and flax mulch fabric should be replaced with a thicker natural mulch such as hemp flakes, miscanthus, buckwheat hulls, flax mulch, wood chips, or BRF.
