Our range of Dipelta. Dipelta is a bush grown for its delicate, often fragrant flowers. The most well-known is Dipelta floribunda, distinguished by its white flowers tinged with yellow in the shape of pleasantly scented bells. The Dipelta yunnanensis produces very light pink flowers with a marked orange throat, showing great cold resistance. Less known, Dipelta ventricosa offers abundant pink flowering in early summer. The flowering period of Dipelta generally extends from May to July, depending on the varieties and growing conditions.
Native to China, Dipelta belongs to the Caprifoliaceae family. This species is close to other bushes such as Kolkwitzia, Abelia, and Weigela. It is characterized by decorative bark that peels off in flakes, which is quite pleasant to observe in winter when the foliage is absent.
Dipelta thrive in well-drained, rich, and moist soil, in a sunny or semi-shaded exposure. They require regular watering, especially in dry periods. These bushes are resistant to diseases and require little maintenance.
