Strange, bizarre, intriguing, quirky... are the many adjectives attributed to twisted trees and shrubs. Some may simply judge them as ugly. What is certain is that they leave no one indifferent!
Their twisted and tangled habit and contorted branches give the garden a very particular atmosphere. If one takes the trouble to highlight them (for example by placing them against a light background, or by associating them with other contrasting shapes), their presence will inevitably attract attention!
Among this collection, you will find small adaptable bushes, such as the 'Red Majestic' Hazelnut, as well as large trees like the Twisted Willow.

In temperate climates, pruning of spring-flowering shrubs (forsythia, spireas, etc.) should be done just after flowering.
Pruning of summer-flowering shrubs (Indian Lilac, Perovskia, etc.) can be done in winter or spring.
In cold regions as well as with frost-sensitive plants, avoid pruning too early when severe frosts may still occur.
