This young plant is struggling to thrive. I regret my purchase.
Sonja
Order placed in 07/2020. This Abeliophyllum distichum is timidly developing at my place (Seine-Maritime / Normandie) but seems more vigorous this year. It is a young plant planted in the Southwest, facing a brick wall on which I would like it to grow. I can't wait to enjoy its flowering, which I haven't really seen yet. The foliage is light green here. It is a plant that I absolutely wanted to have for its winter flowering. I placed it in front of the house so that everyone can enjoy it.
I am only giving it 3 stars for now because I haven't seen its full potential yet.
Lovely bush even though the subject is not very abundant in branches.
Lauriane
The young plant looks frail but we are optimistic and eager to see it grow and bloom next spring.
Martine
Roger that; we'll have to wait until spring to see the regrowth.
Anne-Marie
Small, slender bush, and of a delicate appearance. I was almost afraid it wouldn't recover.
But appearances can be deceiving. The recovery has been very vigorous to my great surprise. It should be splendid come next winter.
Thomas
The naked young plant received is a sorry sight. 2 small, slender stems, it's far from ready to resemble anything.

Planted in March, it flowered in the first year. It is very drought-resistant and grows quite quickly apparently.
Sylvie B.
Frail young plant which has rewarded us with its discreet winter flowering despite a few white frosts. East-facing position, protected by a mature viburnum tinus directly under an Everest ornamental apple tree. Fertile soil mixed with river gravel. Likes coffee grounds at its base. Can't wait to see it grow.

Planted in early 2018, flowered in the first year, January 2018: clusters of small buds, all black, probably froze (a few nights at -4°C (24.8°F) would have been enough?), I will prune it at the end of February hoping to see it start again, disappointed!
