Our range of Twisted Hazels. The Twisted Hazel, in Latin Corylus avellana 'Contorta', is a deciduous shrub, unusual and ornamental due to its uniquely spiralled and twisted branches that offer a unique silhouette in winter. Among the iconic varieties, Corylus avellana 'Red Majestic' stands out for its purple foliage and red catkins, while the 'Webb’s Prize Cob' is renowned for its generous production of tasty hazelnuts. The cultivar 'Medusa' is even more twisted, its name evoking a nest of snakes gives a good idea of its branches that contort to the extreme. The classic 'Contorta', with its spiralled branches, remains a must-have for enthusiasts of curiosities.
These twisted hazels are resilient and undemanding bushes, transforming the garden into a living and original tableau, season after season.
