In hydrangeas, double flowers can also be found! Both in classic ball-shaped hydrangeas, such as Hydrangea macrophylla, and in flat-headed hydrangeas, such as H. serrata, in quercifolia hydrangeas, or in countless hybrids such as 'Miss Saori', 'Dutch', or the 'You and Me' hydrangeas.
In these varieties, it is the fertile florets, of large size, that have two or even three rows of decorative petals. And as always with these bushes, the flowers range from pink to blue, with various shades of mauve, red, and purple, sometimes white or even bicoloured. The fantasy also lies in the shape of the petals, which can be beautifully dentate, or in the shape of florets mimicking double stars.
