Cabbage plants should be planted in the vegetable garden as soon as spring begins. The plants including Savoy Cabbages, Cauliflowers, Kale or Milan Cabbages are all very different except for belonging to the same species. Except for Brussels sprouts , they are generally quite large vegetables grown for their leaves or flowers (Broccoli, Romanesco Cabbage). A greedy vegetable, it requires well-fertilised soil, rich in nitrogen and potash. It can be harvested all year round depending on the varieties and is remarkable for its high content of vitamins C, B6, and B9.
