This garden rake features a 1.30m beech wood handle and a 4-curved steel tines head. This tool allows for easy scratching, loosening, and aerating of the soil in flower beds between plants, and for preparing the soil before sowing or planting. Supplied with a galvanized hanging hook.

The 4-tine light weeding rake by Spear & Jackson is a lightweight, sturdy, and manoeuvrable garden tool, very practical for working the soil on the surface in flower beds or in preparation for spring or autumn sowing and planting. This tool is made from quality materials.

This type of rake was originally used to spread manure in the fields. It is now commonly called a soil rake or weeding rake and is used to prepare the soil for sowing and planting. It is used in ornamental gardens and, of course, in vegetable gardens, preferably on soil that is not too wet or compact. This tool allows you to:

  • "hook" the soil to a depth of about 15 cm.
  • air the soil, make it more loose, flexible, and light.
  • scratch its surface by making back-and-forth movements.
  • break up clods of soil.
  • level and smooth the soil just before sowing or planting.
  • cover furrows after sowing, as it prevents the accumulation of stones, unlike a traditional rake with closer teeth.
  • optionally harvest potatoes.
