Description

A collection of 3 Daylilies from the Everydaylily series, recently selected in the United States for their exceptional floribundity combined with a compact habit. They bloom continuously from late spring to the first frost, producing up to 400 flowers in a mature season. These easy-to-grow perennials are stunning in borders or along a pathway, delightful in pots, and perfect in a romantic or natural setting.

The collection consists of:

- x 1 Hemerocallis Everydaylily 'Pink': Its flowers are delicious and perfectly formed. They display a delicate salmon pink shade, shaded with a lavender pink halo around a golden throat.

- x 1  Hemerocallis Everydaylily 'Red Ribs':  its flowers have thick and slightly wavy petals, slightly undulated on the edges. Each petal, crossed by a yellow midline, is more or less bordered or maculated with yellow on a dark red background.

- x 1  Hemerocallis Everydaylily 'Cherry': rounded corollas of pastel pink colour shaded with a deeper lavender pink halo around a green and yellow throat.

 They are individually labelled.

According to classifications, the genus Hemerocallis belongs to the family Liliaceae or Hemerocallidaceae. They are hardy perennial plants with deciduous foliage in winter or sometimes semi-evergreen. The varieties of the Everydaylily series are derived from the excellent border daylily 'Stella de Oro'. They grow quickly, forming a reasonably dense clump that will not exceed 35-40cm in height, with a relative spread of 50 cm: daylilies tend to spread a bit when they like the soil. The flowers measure 7-8 cm in diameter. Each flower lasts only one day, but the flowering renews continuously over a long period between June and October. The iridescent texture of the petals enhances the flower colour. The foliage is linear and deciduous, disappearing in winter. Daylilies are plants with short rhizomes and fleshy roots that tolerate dry soils but are more opulent and much more floriferous in cool, fertile soil.

Very easy to grow, Everydaylily daylilies thrive in both partial shade and full sun. Some can be invasive, so don't hesitate to divide the clumps every four or five years, preferably in autumn after flowering. Daylilies are often called "the perfect perennial plant" because of their vibrant colours, ability to tolerate any environment, and compatibility with other perennials. Plant them in generous clumps in your borders and beds. All summer bulb flowers can be planted alongside daylilies. Everydaylily daylilies pair well with campanulas, catmints, penstemons, asters, chamomiles, or panicled phlox. On a balcony or terrace, they will be superb for months. The flowers are edible: they brighten up salads and decorate desserts.

Planting and care

Plant your 'Everydaylily' Hemerocallis in good garden soil that is not too clayey and enriched with humus and compost. Under these conditions, your perennial will have good tolerance to summer droughts and will not suffer from winter frosts. However, its long summer flowering requires the soil to remain slightly moist, even in the height of summer. Very easy to grow, this variety is not susceptible to parasites or diseases and does not attract rodents. Hemerocallis thrive equally well in partial shade and full sun, with 4 to 5 hours of daily sunlight sufficient—plant by burying the collar 3 to 4 cm below the surface. If you plant multiple plants, do not place them too close together, as the spaces will quickly fill in. Keeping the soil reasonably moist for a few weeks after planting is advisable. It is best to divide the clumps in autumn after flowering.
