Planting and care

Very easy to grow, 'Garee Bee' is resistant to pests and diseases. It thrives in both shade and sun and only requires 4 to 5 hours of sunlight per day. Plant in good, regular garden soil that doesn't retain water, especially in the winter. Plant between September and April, burying the crown 3 to 4cm (2in) below the surface. It is advisable to arrange the roots on a small mound of fine, light soil. The average planting distance is 60cm (24in). It's a good idea to keep the soil moist for the first two months after planting. After that, it will no longer require any care, except to cut back the wilted stems to ground level. Add some complete fertiliser in early spring. Divide the clumps every four or five years if it has grown too big. Do this after flowering.

Hemerocallis is often referred to as "the perfect perennial," due to its bright colours, ability to tolerate drought, and thrive in many different climate zones while requiring little maintenance.
