Thanks to the individuals (Jenny for order preparation and ? from the shipping department), the rose bush received is small but appears healthy to me. Planted near the 'Arthur Bell' variety, I am now patiently waiting for it to take root...or not?

Description

The Rosa Urban Streetlight 'Phoenix' is a compact flowering bush that is disease-resistant. It is distinguished by its rare flowering colour, a lovely warm and soft orange, enhanced by its beautiful dark green foliage that does not stain. Its well-double, medium-sized roses bloom from late spring until the first frost. This mass will bring this rare, warm, flattering orange colour to be white, blue or even purple. Very hardy, really easy to grow, floriferous and almost maintenance-free, this bedding rose will bring that rare, warm orange colour flattering to white, blue or even mauve blooms. It slips easily into a small garden, can be used to create large, colourful borders and makes an attractive subject for a large pot on the terrace.

The Rosier Phoenix 'KORrosobi' is a German creation by Kordes, introduced to the market in 2017, but still quite challenging to find in the horticultural trade. It is part of a series of roses developed in partnership with 'Globe Planter' and 'Urban Streetlight, ' bringing together varieties selected for their disease resistance, robustness, and ability to flower enthusiastically without requiring much maintenance. These plants are widely used in urban landscaping.

This variety 'Phoenix' belongs to the family of floribunda roses, with flowers grouped in bouquets, and to the category of mass roses due to its compact, upright and bushy habit. It quickly forms a bush of about 70 cm (28in) in height and 50 cm (20in) in width. Its thorny stems are covered with decorative foliage, a beautiful glossy dark green, finely toothed in the edges. Its repeat flowering begins in June and regularly flowers until October if the soil remains slightly moist in summer. Its beautiful 6-7 cm (2-3in) diameter flowers form regular, slightly turbinate flat double cups and are grouped in bouquets. Their colour is a rich coppery-pink-orange with amber nuances, which is not harsh to the eye. The deciduous foliage turns yellow before falling in autumn.

The 'Phoenix' rose is a robust plant that adapts to all soils that are not too dry and to all climates, which allows it to be welcomed without reservation in many regions. In hotter climates, place it preferably in the morning sun, while it will flower better in full sun in cooler regions. It's perfect for mass planting, planted as a border along a path or in front of a shrub mass planting. It can also be planted in groups of 3 plants, arranged in a triangle, isolated on a lawn. Also, plant it with ground cover roses with white or pale yellow flowers to highlight the path, shrub, and perennial mass plantings. Bush roses allow for beautiful compositions with hardy geraniums, catmints and perennial salvias, accessible to all gardeners, even beginners.

Planting and care

Plant it in well-drained soil between November and March. Roses like clay soil, but if the soil is sandy, compact or dry, add compost to the planting hole. Don't plant it in waterlogged soil in winter. Place it in a sunny or partially shaded area. Roses need a lot of nutrients, so use a specific fertiliser at the start of vegetation and throughout the flowering period. To encourage repeat flowering, remove faded flowers regularly. Prune the stems by about one-quarter of their length (from 4 to 6 buds from the base of the stem) in March. Prune above an outward-facing bud so that the bush can fill out and the branches don't become tangled in the centre of the canopy. Floribunda rose varieties are more vigorous and floriferous than large-flowered rose varieties.

Roses may develop unsightly spots at the end of summer, but this is a natural occurrence and doesn't harm the rose's growth.
