Thanks to Manon (order preparation) and NC (shipping service), the rose bush received is healthy. Planted near another rose bush of the same variety, I am looking forward to seeing its progress... Note: received with the variety label (essential for identifying the rose bush in all seasons).

The Urban Streetlight Rose Medeo forms a wide cushion covered with small, extremely bright pinkish-white stars from late spring until the first frost. Its flowering, highlighted by a dense foliage of perfectly healthy, shiny dark green leaves, is so abundant in June that it almost hides its vegetation. After the flowers, a few small orange fruits appear, adding to the charm of this excellent variety. Very hardy, truly easy to grow, floriferous, and almost maintenance-free, this rose finds its place in all flower gardens, especially on slopes or in large borders where it works wonders.
Â
The 'Kortraste' Medeo Rose is a German creation by Kordes, introduced to the market in 2003 but already distinguished with the highly selective German A.D.R. label since 2001. It is part of a series of roses developed in partnership with 'Globe Planter', the 'Urban Streetlight' series, bringing together varieties selected for their disease resistance, robustness, and ability to flower enthusiastically without requiring much maintenance. These plants are widely used in urban landscaping.
This 'Medeo' variety belongs to the floribunda rose family, with flowers grouped in bouquets, and the category of ground-cover roses due to its low and spreading habit. It quickly forms a wide, very dense dome of vegetation, reaching about 50 cm (20in) in height and 80 cm (32in) in width. Its thorny stems are covered with decorative foliage, a beautiful shiny dark green color, with finely toothed leaflets along the edges. Its flowering, particularly abundant in June-July, regularly continues until October if the soil remains slightly moist in summer. Its small corollas, about 3-4 cm (1-2in) in diameter, with 5 petals, form flat cups and are gathered in clusters. Their color is an imperfect white, delicately tinged with very light pink. They open up to reveal a lovely heart of yellow stamens. Pollinated by insects, they produce small rounded orange fruits, the hips. The deciduous foliage turns yellow before falling in autumn.
Â
The 'Medeo' groundcover rose adapts to all soils that are not too dry and to all climates, allowing it to be welcomed without reservation in many regions. In the south, it is best placed in the morning sun, while it will flower better in full sun in the north. It works wonders on a large slope, where it will cover the ground, above a low wall, planted along a pathway or at the front of a shrub border. It can also be planted in groups of three, arranged in a triangle, or as a specimen feature on a lawn. It can be paired with groundcover roses in shades of pink, yellow, red, or orange to highlight the path of a walkway or the borders of light or opulent shrubs and perennials. Groundcover roses create beautiful scenes with perennial geraniums, catmints, and perennial salvias. Very easy to pair with other plants, this 'Medeo' rose will happily accompany shrub roses of any colour in a romantic garden.

Botanical data
Plant the 'Medeo' groundcover rose from November to March, in ordinary, well-prepared, and well-drained soil. Roses prefer clay soils that are rather heavy than light. In soils that are too sandy, compact, or dry in summer, it is preferable to incorporate compost, decomposed manure, or humjus at the bottom of the planting hole. However, this rose dislikes waterlogged soils in winter. Place it in a sunny location, preferably in partial shade. Roses are hungry plants, and a specific fertiliser application will be beneficial at the start of vegetation, and regularly throughout the flowering period.
To encourage reblooming, regularly remove faded old flowers. Floribunda rose varieties are more vigorous and floriferous than large-flowered rose varieties. Therefore, prune the stems by about a quarter of their length (from 4 to 6 buds from the base of the stem) in late winter. Always prune above an outward-facing bud to allow the bush to bush out and prevent the branches from tangling in the centre of the branches.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
