Beans - Phaseolus vulgaris - are much appreciated in the vegetable garden because their germination and cultivation are very easy! Beans can be dwarf plants or climbing vines with indeterminate growth, cultivated either for their immature pod - Green Beans - or for their seeds - Shelling Beans or legumes. They thrive in soils of all types and can be sown directly in place after the last frost. If it has the warmth it needs, this vegetable develops quickly and proves to be very productive. Green Beans and Dried Beans are rich in vitamins and trace elements. Dried Beans are particularly rich in plant proteins.
