Description

The British Courgette Piccolo F1 is a highly productive hybrid. It is a round courgette, in the shape of a globe, and striped with green. It is an ideal courgette when space is limited as it can be grown in a pot. It is easy to harvest, allowing your children to participate in the picking!

In the kitchen, it is a courgette that is often used in salads or grilled slices. It can also be cooked for stir-fries and kebabs. The Piccolo F1 courgette is rich in vitamins A, C, and E.

Cooking tip: Leave the skin on when cooking them.

Sow the seeds individually in pots in April-May under a greenhouse at 20-25°C (68-77°F). You can then harvest it from July to October after approximately 3 months of cultivation.

Planting and care

Sow in pots or in well-amended open ground, in April-May, in a sunny position (you can also start in a greenhouse or frame from March-April). Cover the sowing with a layer of soil 2cm (1in) thick and lightly firm it down. Water regularly with a fine rain. The courgette germinates after 5 to 8 days. Transplant to the garden once the last frosts are over, spacing the plants 60cm (24in) apart. Water regularly throughout the summer. You can start harvesting after 12 weeks, and until October.
