Beautiful mix of blues and whites that filled nicely the stone container where I planted the young plants.

Collection items (5 plants)

Description

Assortment of 5 trailing lobelias in a mix of white, bright blue, dark blue, purple. They bloom continuously throughout the summer.

With their flexible habit, lobelias are ideal for hanging baskets. They also find their place at the base of clematis plants.

Note: Please be aware that our plug plants are professional products intended for experienced gardeners: upon receipt, transplant and store them in a sheltered location (veranda, greenhouse, cold frame) at a temperature above 14C° for a few weeks before planting them outdoors once the risk of frost has passed.

Planting and care

You can plant your lobelias in the ground or in a pot. If you want to plant them in the ground, wait until the last heavy frosts have passed (lobelias can tolerate a small late frost). In the meantime, you can pre-cultivate them in a warm and bright place in a pot to accelerate their growth. Plant your lobelias in a sunny or semi-shaded position. They need deep and humus-bearing soil, which remains rather moist. Therefore, they appreciate fertile soils. Amend the planting substrate, for example, with dehydrated blood. Water regularly, but not excessively. They are very flowering plants and are greedy. We recommend feeding them with container plant fertilizer once or twice a week during the growth period. Remove faded flowers as they appear to keep them looking beautiful and extend the flowering period.
