Description
Lantana is a small bushy shrub grown as an annual in temperate climates, with dark green evergreen foliage, markedly veined and pointed in shape.
It flowers in paniculate spikes of 4 to 5 cm (2in), continuously from summer until the first frost.
We offer it here in 3 assorted varieties: 2 with orange-red flowers, 2 with yellow flowers, 1 with white flowers.
Well protected in a sheltered position, it can withstand mild winters when grown outdoors.
Young plants measuring 4 to 8 cm (2 to 3in), sold in trays of 5 small plant plugs with a diameter of 2.8 cm (1in) and a height of 4 cm (2in). Our plants are at least eight weeks old and strong enough to be planted in the ground.
Note: Please be aware that our young plug plants are professional products intended for experienced gardeners: upon receipt, transplant and store them under cover (veranda, greenhouse, frame) at a temperature above 14°C (57.2°F) for a few weeks, before planting them outside once all risk of frost has passed.

Planting and care
You can plant your Lantanas in the ground or in a pot. If you plant them in the ground, wait until the last frost has passed (they may tolerate a light frost). In the meantime, you can pre-cultivate them in a warm and bright place to accelerate their growth. Plant your Lantanas in a sunny or partially shaded site. They need a light and humus-bearing soil and appreciate a fertiliser input. They tolerate a rather dry soil quite well. In pots, they need to be watered regularly. Usually grown as annuals, they are actually fragile perennials: by bringing them indoors at the first frost, you can extend their flowering throughout autumn and winter. Outdoor cultivation is possible by the seaside, with good winter mulching. Prune lightly in March.

In temperate climates, pruning of spring-flowering shrubs (forsythia, spireas, etc.) should be done just after flowering.
Pruning of summer-flowering shrubs (Indian Lilac, Perovskia, etc.) can be done in winter or spring.
In cold regions as well as with frost-sensitive plants, avoid pruning too early when severe frosts may still occur.
