Botanical data
Plant your biennial plug plants and bulbs in a pot or large container in a sunny or possibly semi-shaded position. They require light and humus-rich soil and appreciate a fertiliser application. Place the bulbs first, at a depth of about 10 cm, fill with compost up to 1 or 2 cm from the edge of the pot, and then plant the biennial plug plants, spacing them about 10 to 15 cm apart in all directions. In a pot, the biennial plug plants should be watered at planting, and you can store them during winter on a balcony or a window ledge protected from cold winds.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
