Very good plants unlike last year! Congratulations! They are growing in an extremely positive way without powdery mildew.

Description

Myosotis sylvatica 'Savoie Bleu' is a superb new variety that offers flowers from the first autumn after planting. Unlike other varieties it does not require vernalisation, which means enduring a period of cold in order to flower. This pretty plant, grown as a biennial, blooms with pure blue flowers, almost 'electric', with a small yellow eye. Particularly compact, it is perfect for pot or container cultivation, combined with wallflowers, pansies, or early-flowering violets. It enhances all the plants in the garden or on the terrace and forms a dazzling carpet at the base of bulbs, bushes, and perennials. Less invasive than other cultivars, this plant is so happy in our climate that it can self-seed, not always faithfully, into various flowerbeds. It thrives in rather moist, fertile, and well-drained soil, in full sun or in the partial shade of woodland areas.

The woodland forget-me-not is a plant from the Boraginaceae family, native to meadows, clearings, and the edges of forests throughout most of Europe, except for the far north and southwest. The 'Savoie Bleu' variety is a short-lived perennial plant, usually grown as a biennial. It has a compact habit, and the plant is distinguished by early and abundant flowering until June. It forms small rosettes of pubescent and pale green foliage from which emerge, from April to June, hairy stems that branch out in their upper part, carrying 15 cm (6in) high pendulous inflorescences that lengthen as the flowers bloom. They are composed of flowers measuring 3 to 10mm in diameter, of an extremely vibrant pure blue with a small yellow centre. Once established the woodland forget-me-not and its cultivars self-seed abundantly in the garden.

The forget-me-not is traditionally used to enhance spring bulbs and blooms (daffodils, narcissus, primroses, dwarf irises, tulips), as it lightens their flowering. You can also plant it in large groups to create a colourful carpet in perennial flowerbeds, borders, and containers. In warmer regions it will thrive in woodland areas alongside bleeding hearts or horned violets. The delicate flowers of the woodland forget-me-not are highly decorative in spring bouquets, to showcase larger flowers (especially peonies or roses). Not to be forgotten, its motto could well be: "Planted once, with you forever".

Note: Our plug plants are professional products reserved for experienced gardeners. Upon receipt, replant them as soon as possible in pots, containers, or directly into flowerbeds.
