Description

These relatively unknown perennial plants, similar to Phormiums, originate from the southern hemisphere. They have the same hardiness as Phormiums and thrive well along the coastline, but are less successful elsewhere. Hardy to -10°C (14°F), they are otherwise easy to grow.

A dense clump of upright foliage, similar to that of iris. Bluish-purple flowers are arranged along tall flower stalks. The berries that follow are also purplish-violet.
