Completely dried out soil and what was left of the bugles, yellowed. I had requested a delayed delivery, but it seems like the packaging was done after the order was placed.

Description

Ajuga incisa 'Frosted Jade', also known as the incised bugle, is a variety that stands out. Its grey-green foliage, variegated with white and deeply incised along the edge, its intense blue flowers, and its upright habit make it an unusual perennial, which has very little in common with creeping bugles, except for belonging to the same botanical family.

Originally from Japan, Ajuga incisa is a perennial that grows at the edge of mountain woodlands. Reaching a height of 40 to 50cm (16 to 20in), it forms a bushy clump that produces weak suckers. In spring, it bears spike-like flowers, arranged in whorls, which are a beautiful intense blue.
Its flowers create lovely contrasts with its deciduous foliage, which is very graphic, coloured grey-green and white.

Very hardy and easy to grow, Ajuga incisa 'Frosted Jade' thrives in partial shade, in any moist, humus-rich soil. It tolerates heavy and acidic soils very well. Plant it at the edge of woodlands, under tall trees, or along cool borders, in the company of bush roses, polemoniums or perennial geraniums.
