Planting and care

We offer a variety of plants that have different levels of hardiness. Some may require winter protection, while others can be grown in open ground in most parts of the country. All the plants we offer have roots that go dormant in winter. They prefer a cool to humid climate and semi-shade, as well as moist and humus-rich soil. They can tolerate well-drained clay soils in winter. These plants need moisture in spring and summer but not in winter. To protect them from the cold, dead leaves (20cm or 8in) can be placed on the base, providing the humus they need. These plants grow well in cooler climates due to their suitable soil and climate. They can be planted alongside ferns, Epimedium, Begonia grandis, rhododendrons, azaleas, Meconopsis, lilies, and other plants. We only ship these plants from February to May.
