Duo of summer meadow perennials

This pair of Meadow Perennials will create a flowerbed or a small meadow that will bloom all summer. The lemon yellow spikes of Solidago 'Goldenmosa' will blend with the white daisies of Echinacea purpurea 'Alba' for several weeks, without needing any particular care. These two perennials stand out for their robustness and ease of cultivation in any well-prepared garden soil that is not too dry in summer. Plant this pair in groups of 5 to 10 for a beautiful countryside effect.

The pair consists of:

1 x Solidago 'Goldenmosa': a compact, non-invasive hybrid goldenrod variety reaching 75 cm high when in bloom. Its 10 cm yellow flower panicles are particularly bright and slightly arched on very dense light green foliage that turns more golden in partial shade.

1 x Echinacea purpurea 'Alba': this variety stands out for its 6 cm white flowers with a large orange heart. It blooms at the same time as the 'Goldenmosa' goldenrod, and it is slightly taller, reaching a maximum height of 90 cm.

These perennials appreciate full sun and a rich, moist, but well-drained soil. They are perfect for flowerbeds or large countryside borders. Mix these two plants and the white flowers of the echinacea will emerge from the sunny spikes of the goldenrod. Plant 2 Solidago plants and 2 echinacea plants per square metre and maintain a distance of 50 cm between each plant.

This pair of perennials harmoniously combines with light grasses such as Stipa (Stipa) or Pennisetum 'Fairy Tails' with fine white spikes. Together, they will create a pleasant countryside scene. Sedum 'Matrona' and Aster cordifolius 'Little Carlow' extend the appeal of the flowerbed through autumn. All these plants have similar soil and exposure requirements, they will grow together with little maintenance.
