The spreading perennial Geranium pratense Plenum Album is a semi-evergreen variety that offers white double flowers with a green centre, that are veined with pink. This plant flowers throughout the summer. Its cup-shaped flowers measure about 3 cm (1in) in diameter and last longer than single-flowered cultivars. The petals are slightly undulate.
The semi-evergreen green leaves turn bronze in autumn. They measure 10 to 20 cm (4 to 8in) long. They gather on strong stems: the Geranium pratense Plenum Album can reach a height of 80 cm (32in) at maturity.
Originating from Europe, the Altai Mountains of Central Asia, and western China, it is a very hardy perennial. It can be found in borders, limestone rockeries, and flower beds.

Botanical data
The perennial Geranium pratense Plenum Album should be planted in spring or autumn. This variety, like all other perennial geraniums, is undemanding in terms of location and soil quality. It can be placed in any fertile soil that is not waterlogged, preferably moist and richer than the typical species that prefers dry soil. It tolerates limestone. Geranium Pratense thrives in the sun, which promotes flowering, or in partial shade.
To plant your young plant, prepare the soil to a depth of 20 cubic cm, crumbling the soil well. Add a fertiliser to the base of the hole such as bonemeal. Position your plant, removed from its pot, by covering the top of the root ball with 3 cm (1in) of soil. Fill in the hole and water generously to eliminate any air pockets. In dry weather, it will be necessary to water regularly for a few weeks to help the plant to establish. However, water sparingly in winter. Apply liquid fertilizer twice a month. From July to September, remove faded flowers and leaves to encourage new growth. If the foliage has not been affected by cold weather, trim the large clumps every spring to keep them compact and promote new vegetation. You can also trim after flowering and water well to encourage the plant to produce a neat clump. Divide the geranium regularly.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
