Description

We offer you a collection of 6 Bushy Rock Roses, composed of:

2 'Elf Sword' Rock Roses with single, ivory-coloured flowers with yellow egg-shaped centres.

2 'Hartswood Ruby' Rock Roses with abundant raspberry red and ruby summer flowering, on beautiful green foliage.

2 'The Bride' Rock Roses in white and gold, on silvery green foliage.

Very easy to grow, Bushy Rock Roses appreciate well-drained even rocky soils and sunny and warm exposures. They thrive in south-facing and hot situations. These very floriferous and beautifully colored dwarf bushes can be used both as rock garden plants and as ground cover, offering a wide range of uses.

The Rock Rose is the ideal plant to enhance a rocky garden, a sunny slope, cascading over a wall, in a paving... It will also have a beautiful effect at the front of perennial borders or raised flower beds. It also thrives in pots or containers for terraces. It is perfect for creating vertical gardens and green roofs. It can be associated with many other rock garden plants (Erigeron, Shrubby Cinquefoil, Shrubby Wallflower), as well as perennial plants such as the following: Lavender, German Iris, Rock Rose, Sneezeweed, Bindweed, Tickseed, African Lily.

Planting and care

Very easy to grow and low maintenance, rock roses appreciate being planted in full sun, in a neutral or calcareous soil, perfectly drained, even dry and rich in gravel or sand. Not tolerating stagnant moisture in winter, it will be necessary, especially in cold and humid climates, to lighten the soil during planting by adding gravel and sand to improve drainage. Rock roses are a very hardy plant that can withstand temperatures between -15 and -20°C (5 and 1°F). Being very drought-tolerant, it only requires regular and moderate watering in the first year after planting; afterwards, the plant can manage on its own. At the end of flowering, pinch the faded stems and foliage to encourage a second blooming in autumn. Lightly pruning the clump with hedge shears can be done after flowering to maintain a dense vegetation and prevent the center from becoming bare.
