Description

Excellent perennial plants, some of which have been used in gardens for a long time and, with one exception (L. chalcedonica), all prefer a light, porous and well-drained soil.

Planting and care

In regions with clayey, heavy and humid soil, only the scree garden, the slope of an embankment and the rockery can accommodate them without risks. In stony or sandy soil, it is not uncommon for most of them to self-seed spontaneously. To be planted in a dry, meager and poor, gravelly or sandy, warm and sunny soil. In regions with cool soil, planting in a rockery or crowning a low wall is essential. Its life is short, but when it is happy, it self-seeds in the garden.
