Description

Phlox divaricata 'White Perfume' is a floriferous perennial ground cover, forming a carpet of pure white scented flowers.

This variety of ground cover phlox develops short stems that root easily on the ground, reaching 20 to 25cm (8 to 10in) in height when mature. It has dark green, linear, lanceolate, finely hairy leaves. In May-June, numerous stems with terminal corymbs bear 8 to 10 flowers with pure white corollas.

Originally from North America, Phlox divaricata 'White Perfume' is very hardy. It likes moist, humus-bearing, well-drained, non-calcareous soil, and full sun.

Plant it in rockeries, borders, or in pots in combination with creeping veronicas and aubrietas. Alternatively, plant it at the base of bush roses.
