Synthetic sharpening stone with 2 grits, Bahco Ls-Combiness

This synthetic sharpening stone with 2 grits 180/400 Bahco LS-COMBINESS allows to quickly improve a damaged surface, in two steps: one green side (180/cm²) for removing coarse irregularities on the edges, and the other grey side (400/cm²) for a smooth finish. It will be fully effective after being moistened with water or essential oil.

Corundum, which is used to make most sharpening stones, is a very hard synthetic stone that has hardness characteristics similar to diamond. Covered with more or less fine but very hard grains, it is used as an abrasive to "wear down" and thin the cutting edge of knife blades to make them sharper. The user rubs the knife blade on the stone on the side where the grain is coarsest, then refines the work by rubbing the blade on the side with finer grains. The user repeats the motion on both sides of the blade, laying it flat, several times, until a satisfactory edge is obtained.
