Rosa floribunda - Jolie Provence
Rosa floribunda - Jolie Provence
Thanks to the individuals (for order preparation and shipping), the bare root rose received is small but appears healthy to me. Planted near the 'Pink Chantilly' and 'Claire Marshall' varieties, I am now patiently waiting for it to take root... or not?

The Street Colours 'Jolie Provence' (Meilegase) Rose is a landscape rose that forms a modest, dense, and rounded bush, covered in flowers from May until the frost. Part of a new generation of roses adapted for small city gardens and container planting, it exhibits exceptional disease resistance and pollution tolerance. Its glossy, vibrant green foliage highlights its single, flat cup-shaped flowers in shades of pink and salmon, with yellow stamens. It is a versatile and easy-to-grow rose, highly visited by pollinators, and ideal for amateur gardeners.
The Jolie Provence® 'Meilegase' Rose is a Meilland landscape rose that belongs to a new range called 'Street Colors', designed to fit small urban spaces, with remarkable floribundity, disease-free foliage, and minimal maintenance. It eventually forms a compact and spreading bush, reaching a height of 40 to 60 cm (16 to 24in) and a width of 60 to 80 cm (24 to 32in). From spring to autumn, on glossy green foliage, clusters of 2 to 7 flowers per stem, with approximately 20 rounded petals, 5 cm (2in) wide, bloom in flat cups. They are bright pink with salmon undertones and a golden yellow stamen centre.
This 'Jolie Provence' can be grown in any garden, regardless of size, on balconies and patios. It adapts to all moderately moist soils and climates. A fuss-free rose, all that's left is to admire it and find companions for it in borders or flower beds. Some silver-leaved plants, like Stachys or Artemisias, and purple shrubs, like Berberis harmonise, beautifully with pink flowers. Grasses soften their appearance, while blue and purple flowering perennials such as salvias and nepetas complement their colour. It becomes ornamental in a large pot before joining bouquets in a vase.

Botanical data
This rose is a low-maintenance plant when it comes to soil and exposure. To plant your rose in a pot, work the soil to a depth of 25 cm (10in), crumble the soil well, and place a base amendment such as blood, fish and bone at the bottom of the planting hole. Position your plant, removed from its pot, by covering the top of the root ball with 3 cm (1in) of soil, fill the hole, and water generously to remove any air pockets. In dry weather, it is necessary to water regularly for a few weeks to facilitate root growth. Similarly, remember to water regularly in hot and dry weather during the first two years. Once established, your rose will not require watering in the summer. Also, remember to provide your rose with a special rose fertiliser that stimulates plant flowering.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
