Description

The Golden Lady Ruffles rose will surprise you with its numerous double flowers, with fringed petals, in a very bright yellow. They are unique and will be sensational in bouquets from May until the frosts. This small bush can reach 60 cm in height and 30 cm in width and will easily find its place in a flowerbed, a border or in a container on a terrace. Requiring little maintenance and resistant to diseases, this rose will thrive in the sun. Regularly provide it with fertiliser and remove faded flowers to encourage repeat flowering.

Rosa Golden Lady Ruffles is a 2017 creation from Interplant Roses in the Netherlands. It was selected for its unique fringed flowers and its repeat flowering that lasts from May until the frosts. Its first bloom is particularly abundant and the fringed character of its flowers is very pronounced. It forms a small bush, rather upright, about 50 to 60 cm in height and 20 to 30 cm in width. Its yellow flowers are grouped in clusters and measure approximately 7 cm in diameter. With their crinkled petals, they resemble cactus dahlia flowers.

With its long and generous flowering period, this rose will find its place in any garden, in a flowerbed or a border. To create a mass effect, plant it in groups of 3 or 5. Associate it with other roses from the Ruffles series, appreciated for their fringed petals: Red Lady with red flowers or Pink Lady with pink flowers. This small-sized rose with a semi-upright habit will also thrive in a large container on a terrace. Surround the base of your yellow rose with perennial plants with blue flowers such as Salvia nemorosa Sensation Deep Blue or Geranium Lea.

Planting and care

Plant your Golden Lady Ruffles rose in full sun or possibly in partial shade. Roses prefer clay soils, rather than light soils. Incorporate well-rotted manure or compost at the time of planting. Space your roses about 50 cm apart. Planting in groups of 3 or 5 is ideal, but this rose can also be integrated into a bed, border or container. Roses are hungry plants and will appreciate a specific fertiliser application at the start of the growing season, and regularly during flowering. To encourage repeat blooming, remove faded flowers as they appear. In late winter, remove dead wood and prune the stems by about one quarter of their length, taking care to cut above an outward-facing bud. This variety shows good disease resistance.
