It is too early for a definitive opinion, but it has taken well and appears to be in good shape. We will see at the time of flowering.

The Philadelphus 'Pearls of Perfume' is a new generation white Mock Orange bush that stands out for the duration of its flowering. The beauty of the flowers and the fragrance has been retained in this beautiful American selection. Large, double, pure white and highly fragrant flowers remind us of gardenia. The bush is compact, well-branched, and suitable for gardens of all sizes. It is undemanding and thrives in all soils, all exposures and parts of the country. If you only have space for one Mock Orange, this one deserves to be at the top of the list!
The Philadelphus are all deciduous bushes originating from the northern hemisphere's temperate regions, particularly from the Far East and North America. The approximately 60 species that make up this genus were first crossed in France by Jacques and Lemoine and then in the United States. Undemanding, robust and hardy, Mock Oranges can sometimes take a while to establish. They should be regularly pruned after flowering to remain floriferous. They belong to the Hydrangea family.
The 'Pearls of Perfume' Mock Orange ('G15097') is an American horticultural hybrid obtained in Pennsylvania by breeder Rick Grazzini, who crossed Philadelphus with P. virginalis and P. lewisii 'Snow Velvet'. The bush is well bushy, with a dense habit. Of medium growth, it reaches approximately 1.20 m (4ft) in height with a spread of 60 cm (24in) at the age of 5 years. Its fully double flowers measure approximately 6 cm (2in) in diameter. They bloom first on one-year-old stems, from June onwards, and the current year's growth until August. They are gathered in small, dense clusters full of charm. Their fragrance is pleasant and pronounced. The leaves are abundant, slightly toothed at the edges, 4 to 10 cm (2 to 4in) long, and dark green. Their ovate shape characterises them, with pointed tips and prominent longitudinal veins that run through the lamina. The deciduous foliage is absent in winter.
Rediscover Mock Oranges: they are simple bushes surrounded by such symbolism that they once reigned in every garden! The Poet's Jasmine, suitable for all types of gardens, very easy to grow, is ideal for beginner gardeners. This 'Pearls of Perfume' variety, modest but exceptionally floriferous, will be perfect in combination with other bushes, in beds or a small flowering hedge. It can be planted in groups of 3 plants or combined with bushes that flower earlier or later: Deutzia, dwarf Buddleias, Forsythia, Caryopteris, summer lilacs, Japanese quinces, and roses in all colours. Let a small herbaceous clematis climb in its branches, giving your Mock Orange a wild and charming look. Its white flowering also allows beautiful pairings with blue-flowering perennial geraniums (or white, to enhance the beauty of an evening garden).

Botanical data
The Philadelphus 'Pearls of Perfume', a very easy-to-grow bush that requires very little maintenance and is very accommodating, is well suited to all gardens and ideal for beginner gardeners. It is suitable for ordinary, poor, and even limestone soil, not too dry or moist. While it can tolerate drought once established, it tends to lose its leaves in hot and dry climates during summer and prefers well-drained and humus-rich soil. It is very hardy, tolerating temperatures as low as -20°C (1°F). Planting should be done in early spring or autumn, preferably in full sun, partial shade, or light shade in hot regions. Excessive heat exposure should be avoided in dry and hot climates.
Flowering on last year's shoots, Philadelphus should be pruned after flowering, in July-August, by shortening the flowering branches by one-third of their length. Severe pruning can be done every 2 to 3 years to keep it compact and floriferous. Do not hesitate to cut the old wood and long branches down to the base of the plant to encourage branching from the base. While it is a resistant shrub, it can be susceptible to powdery mildew and black aphids.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
