Our Celosia seeds are annual plants with very colourful summer flowering in spikes or cockscomb crests that bring bright touches of colour to the garden, terrace, or bouquets. The Feathery Spike Celosia (Celosia argentea var. plumosa) is prized for its feathery floral spikes. Among the most popular varieties is 'Flamingo Feather'', which offers incredibly elegant long pink floral spikes with a silver base. The Crested Celosia, also known as "cockscomb" (Celosia argentea var. cristata), is distinguished by its inflorescences in the form of wavy, fleshy crests, as seen in 'Triangle Mix', with vibrant and bold colours. The 'Fresh look Red & Yellow ' variety, with its stout yellow and red spike flowers, is eye-catching in borders and containers. Also worth mentioning is Celosia 'China Town' remarkable for its purple foliage and very bright red flowers, highly decorative throughout the season.
Celosias thrive in full sun and well-drained soils. They bloom generously throughout the summer and are easy to grow. Regular watering without excess is recommended, as Celosia tolerates heat well but dislikes waterlogged soils. Sow them indoors in March and transplant outdoors after the last frost.
