Narcissus Girl Power

Narcissus 'Girl Power' is an unusual variety. Its large flowers are composed of pure white tepals and a wide attenuated pale-pink crown. The flower appears almost double, as the spreading cup almost reaches the size of the petals. Its spring flowering is ideal for borders and containers.

Narcissus are the most resistant bulbs when planted in autumn. They tolerate both full sun and partial shade. They prefer well-drained soil but also thrive in heavy soil.

For bouquets: we advise against mixing narcissus with other flowers, especially tulips, as daffodil stems contain a substance that causes other flowers to wilt quickly. This detrimental effect on other flower species can be attenuated by dipping the ends of narcissus stems in hot water for 1 to 2 minutes.

Narcissus come back every year. Unlike perennial plants, they do not require fertiliser before flowering. Only cut the leaves when they have turned yellow. The bulbs use the leaves to replenish their reserves and prepare for next year's flowering. You can apply fertiliser when you cut the leaves.
