Description

Narcissus Professor Einstein is a highly contrasting variety, with flowers that have a white crown and a copper orange trumpet, almost red. They bloom from April to May and have a long lifespan.

At maturity, the Narcissus Professor Einstein can reach 45 cm (18in) high. Plant it in groups for a more impressive display. It pairs well with other spring bulbs as well as perennials, annuals, and flowering bushes. Daffodils are appreciated for being synonymous with spring.

Narcissus Professor Einstein is easy to grow and thrives both in the shade of a woodland and a sunny flower bed. It can also be grown in pots. The flowers are long-lasting when cut, but they should not be mixed with other flowers in the same vase as their sap is toxic to them.

Planting and care

Narcissus Professor Einstein is easy to grow and thrives in the sun and partial shade. Plant the bulbs in autumn in light, fairly fertile, and well-drained soil. Keep the soil moist during the growing season. Plant the bulbs at a depth at least equal to one and a half times their height, a little deeper in light soil or a lawn. After flowering, let the leaves dry out, the bulbs will enter a dormant period until the next winter. Remove faded flowers to prevent the formation of seeds that would unnecessarily deplete the bulb.
