Description

The 'Blushing Beauty' Late Single Tulip is a charming and distinctive variety, with a refined cup-shaped flower on tall, sturdy stems. It offers a gradation from peachy yellow to soft pink and gentle red, infused with lilac and striped with dark pink. This watercolour-toned flower is perfect in borders, where it reaches a height of 75 cm with very large flowers. Plant enough to create a romantic bouquet with lilies and the first roses.

The 'Blushing Beauty' Tulip is of horticultural origin. It is classified in Division 5, which is characterised by late flowering. It grows tall, reaching 70 to 75 cm in height when in bloom. Perched on sturdy stems, well above the broadly lanceolate leaves, its large flowers stand out for their size and soft colours. The colour palette includes peachy yellow and various shades of pink, almost reaching red. Flowering usually takes place in May-June, making it useful in the garden to transition between spring  and early summer blooms.

The 'Blushing Beauty' tulip blooms at a time when the garden is in full swing. It finds a place in large, well-drained borders, alongside plants with foliage (grasses, fennel, lady's mantle), late tulips in pastel colours, such as pink (Angélique), orange (Apricot Parrot), or mauve (Shirley), and perennials like peonies or pastel-toned wallflowers. They also help extend the flowering period of borders. It can be planted in borders, rockeries, flower beds, and even in pots and containers. Consider it for your balconies and terraces. Ideal for creating romantic bouquets, only add a small amount of water to their vase, a little in the bottom is enough. Furthermore, if your tulips open too quickly, you can add two to three ice cubes to the vase each day.

Planting and care

Place the 'Blushing Beauty' tulips in a sunny or partially shaded spot from late September to December for spring flowering. Plant the bulbs in light and well-drained soil, loosened to a depth of 15 cm. Space the bulbs 10 cm apart without touching each other to create a mass effect that will give a more decorative appearance. Their care is very easy. Simply water regularly, especially during dry winters, and cut the flower stems after flowering. Allow the leaves to completely dry before cutting them.
