More information

This mix of annual and low-growing perennial plants offers the longest flowering period from among the Elves mixes. Based on dwarf cosmos, this flowering meadow is capable of blooming until the end of summer. The pink and white shades of the early season will gradually fade to make way for the bright Dimorphoteca, and then dwarf Cosmos bipinnatus. The seeds are sown from March to early June, in the sun and in well-prepared soil.

Description

This Elves Sensation Meadow Flower Mix brings together 24 species of low-growing perennial and annual plants, with flowering periods ranging from June to the end of September. It allows you to easily create a colourful and rustic flower bed without requiring much maintenance or specific skills. The seeds are sown in spring, in well-prepared and loosened soil, in a sunny location.

The annual plants that make up this mix flower abundantly 6 to 8 weeks after sowing, and some of them will spontaneously reseed in the garden in light soil. Perennial plants, on the other hand, generally flower from the second spring onwards, but they remain in place for several years. One seed packet covers approximately 3 square metres (32 square feet). The height of the plants does not exceed 50 cm (19.7 in).

Partial composition: Dimorphoteca, Eschscholtzia californica, Cosmos bipinnatus, Chrysanthemum, etc.

The meadow flower bed is very trendy, and it combines usefulness with pleasure: flowering throughout the summer season, it possesses a bucolic charm, promotes biodiversity and is water-efficient. Occasional watering during very dry periods will suffice to obtain numerous flowers. Ideal for adding a colourful and rustic touch to the garden, this Sensation mix offers flowers that are often nectar-rich or honey-rich, providing a significant source of food for pollinating insects. Invite nature into your garden: sow our flower mixes near the house, along a path, in a slightly neglected area of the garden, on the bank of a sunken path, or at the back of the garden bordering the countryside.

Planting and care

Sowing: 5 grams per m²

Dig to promote rooting.

• Refine, rake, level and remove stones and weeds.

• Thoroughly mix the contents of the packet.

• Sow by broadcasting as for a lawn.

• Roll or compact the soil with the back of a spade.

• Water and keep moist until germination.

To limit weeds, sow the meadow on the day of soil preparation. After germination, water once a week for 6 weeks.

When young plants appear, water well and remove weeds. In autumn, at the end of flowering, seeds can be collected and stored for sowing the following year.

Watering during dry weather will encourage flower production.
