Description

This Field Beauties Meadow Mix is an assortment of 8 annual flower species that are floriferous, robust, and easy to grow, creating a large meadow visited by pollinating insects and other garden helpers. Sown in spring, in the sun, it will be in bloom all summer long. This meadow is undemanding and requires no maintenance, delighting the gardener while preserving biodiversity.

The annual plants in this mix adapt well to ordinary garden soil. Particularly suitable for large spaces, it significantly reduces the need for mowing. In addition to its aesthetic qualities, the flowering meadow provides a quality food source for pollinators. One seed box allows you to create a flowering meadow of 100 to 300 square metres. The plants grow over 60 cm (24in) in height.

At the end of flowering, mow and remove the plants to prepare the land for reseeding. Sow again the following year.

Partial composition: Zinnia dahlia, Cosmos bipinnatus, Papaver rhoeas, Anethum, etc.

It has become very popular to plant a wildflower meadow. Very easy to grow, it blooms throughout the entire season and restores ecological balance while requiring very little maintenance. Invite nature into your garden: sow our flower mixes in a slightly neglected area of the garden, near the orchard, on a large slope, or at the back of the garden bordering the countryside.

Planting and care

Sowing: from March to early June (> flowering from June to September)

Turn the soil. Depending on the area, you can use a cultivator or agricultural equipment. • Refine, rake, level, and remove stones and weeds. • Mix the contents of the packet with an equivalent volume of dry sand to achieve a better distribution of the seeds. • Sow by broadcasting on the surface, similar to sowing a lawn. • Roll or compact the soil to bring the seeds into contact with the ground. • Water and keep moist until germination.

Sow approximately 1.7 g per square metre

Examples:

• 100 m2: weigh out 170 grams
• 300 m2: use the entire box

At the end of flowering, mow and remove the plants to turn over the soil. Sow again the following year.
