More information

This mix of annual and low-growing perennial plants offers the longest flowering period among wildflower meadow seeds. With the support of dwarf cosmos, this meadow is capable of blooming for four months, until the end of summer. The pink and white shades of the early season will gradually fade to make way for the bright Dimorphoteca, and then the dwarf Cosmos bipinnatus. The seeds are sown from March to early June, in full sun or partial shade and in well-prepared soil. One box can cover up to 100 m².

Description

This Meadow Sensation mix brings together 24 species of low-growing perennial and annual plants, with a flowering period ranging from June until the end of September. The mixture allows for the easy composition of a colourful field of plants, useful for biodiversity, without requiring much maintenance or special skills. The seeds are sown in the spring, broadcast in well-prepared and loosened soil, in a sunny or semi-shaded location.

The plants included in this mixture flower 6 to 10 weeks after sowing, abundantly, and some of them will spontaneously reseed in the garden in light soil. One pack of seeds can cover an area of up to 100 square metres. The height of the plants does not exceed 50 cm (20in).

At the end of flowering, mow and remove the plants to prepare the soil for sowing again the following year.

Partial composition: Dimorphoteca, Eschscholtzia californica, Cosmos bipinnatus, Chrysanthemum paludosum, etc.

It has become very popular to sow a wildflower meadow, and it combines the useful with the pleasant: blooming throughout the summer season, it has a bucolic charm, promotes biodiversity, and is water-efficient. Occasional watering during very dry periods will be sufficient to obtain numerous flowers. Ideal for adding a colorful and rural touch to the garden, this Sensation fallow offers flowers that are often nectar-rich or honey-rich, providing a significant food source for pollinating insects. Invite nature into your garden: sow our flower mixtures in a slightly neglected area of the garden, near the orchard or vegetable garden, on a large slope, or even in the back of the garden at the border with the countryside.

Planting and care

Sowing: from March to early June (> flowering from June to September)

Turn over the soil. Depending on the area, you can use a rototiller or agricultural equipment. • Refine, rake, level, remove stones and weeds. • Mix the contents of the packet with an equal volume of dry sand to achieve a better distribution of the seeds. • Scatter the seeds on the surface like sowing a lawn. • Roll or compact the soil to bring the seeds into contact with the ground. • Water and keep moist until germination.

Sow approximately 0.5 g per m²

Examples:

• 50 m2: weigh out 250 grams
• 100 m2: use the whole box

At the end of flowering, mow and remove the plants to turn over the soil. Resow the following year.
