Description
Common poppy Bridal Silk, also known as Papaver rhoeas, is a variety whose immaculate flowers are reminiscent of white field poppies!
This pretty variety is prized, above all, for its immaculate flowers with their silky petals of a beautiful shade of pure white. Carried on 50 cm tall hairy stems, the flowers bloom from early June to late July. The light green foliage arranged in a rosette, is abundant.
This annual poppy is very attractive to bees and other useful insects. It is a great border plant for sunny white gardens and can also be used as a cut flower.

Planting and care
The field poppy 'Bridal Silk' is an easy to grow plant. Sow the seeds from March to May for flowering from June to September, or in September for flowering from April to June the following year. Sow in warm soil that has been lightly raked to a depth of 6 mm. Poppies prefer full sun. Germination takes about 10 to 14 days. Leave 20 cm between each poppy for their further development.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
