Description

Verbena tapien Sky Blue is a low-growing, carpeting variety. It bears sky-blue flowers with a white eye. This beauty will look wonderful in pots and hanging baskets. It flowers from June to October, reaching a height of 40cm (16in). It needs a bright exposure to flower well. It is fairly resistant to drought and heat.

Verbenas are appreciated for their intense colours and abundant flowering that lasts all summer.

Sold in packs of 5 plug plants, measuring 4cm (2in) X 2.5cm (1in) each.

Our young plug plants are professional products reserved for experienced gardeners. Upon receipt, transplant and store them in shelters (veranda, greenhouse, cold frame) at a temperature above 14°C (57.2°F) for a few weeks before being planted outdoors once the risk of frost has passed.

Planting and care

Plant after the last heavy frosts (verbenas tolerate a light late frost) in a sunny or semi-shaded position. They are fast-growing and produce an abundance of blooms, making them hungry plants. We recommend feeding them with a liquid fertiliser once or twice a week during the growing season. They tolerate drought well, but water regularly during hot summer weather. Cut off faded flowers to encourage new blooms.
