Description

The Walleriana is a very floriferous impatiens with double flowers. It blooms from May to October. The collection is composed of 5 assorted plants, each with a different color: White, Salmon, Pink, Dark Pink, and Red.

Impatiens are the ideal plants to brighten up a shady or semi-shady spot. In a pot on a terrace or in a bed at the base of a tree, they bring freshness, charm, and elegance. The double impatiens wallerianas have a compact and well-branched habit. The finely toothed, pointed oval leaves are shiny green.

They can also be grown indoors as perennials. In this case, it is advisable to cut them back in spring.

Green plants measuring 4 to 8 cm in 5 small plugs with a diameter of 2.8 cm and a height of 4 cm. Each variety is labeled separately. Our plants are at least eight weeks old and strong enough to be planted in the ground.

Note: Please be aware that our young plug plants are professional products intended for experienced gardeners: upon receipt, transplant and store them in a sheltered place (veranda, greenhouse, cold frame...) at a temperature above 14°C for a few weeks before planting them outdoors once the risk of frost has definitively passed.

Planting and care

You can plant your Impatiens Walleriana in the ground or in a pot. If you wish to plant them in the ground, wait until the frosts have passed (Impatiens cannot tolerate frost, even light frosts). In the meantime, you can pre-cultivate them in a pot in a warm and bright location to accelerate their growth (be careful, not too much direct sunlight). Plant your Impatiens in a shaded or semi-shaded location. They need a fairly rich soil that retains moisture. They are sensitive to drought. They will need regular watering during hot summer weather. Very floriferous and fast-growing, they are hungry plants. We recommend feeding them with a liquid fertilizer for containers once or twice a week during the growing season. Remove faded flowers and dry leaves as they appear to keep them looking beautiful and prolong flowering. Be careful, protect them from slugs that enjoy their young leaves.
