Clematis florida Fond Memories

Clematis Florida 'Fond Memories' is a beautiful climbing plant with large white flowers with satin violet reflections.

From June to October, this vigorous variety will cover walls with large single flowers. The blooms are composed of 6 white petals with satin violet reflections and purple anthers. They measure 12cm (5in) in diameter. The robust plant can reach 3m (10ft) in height. Its oval medium green leaves, 8cm (3in) long, are carried by voluble stems that wrap around their support with tendrils. The foliage is deciduous.

Clematis 'Fond Memories' likes clay-siliceous soil that is well worked, deep, moist, and fertile. It likes a sunny position. It prefers cool roots so place ground cover plants around it to provide shade. 

It climbs trellises, fences, pylons, arches, trees, and bushes. It will look sublime in a container on a patio. Combine several species of clematis or marry it with a climbing rose.

Avoid excessive fertilisation that stimulates foliage at the expense of flowers. Do not mulch in order to avoid excessive moisture that promotes wilting disease.
