For the product, there is nothing to complain about, it grows very well. However, we received a small branch, it was not even 10cm (4in) long, contrary to what was stated in the advertisement. This is the first time we are disappointed with the delivery. We want to emphasize that we trust Promesse de Fleurs because it is the first time we are disappointed and hoping that it will be the last time.

Description

Wisteria floribunda variegata or the Japanese Wisteria is a climber that offers pretty flower clusters in May-June, which appear with the foliage. Its fragrant flowers are purple in colour. They are spread along the clusters, which are numerous and measure 15cm (6in) long. The flowers are adorned with about 10 stamens each.

The foliage is deciduous. It is variegated with dark green, light green, and cream on young shoots. The Japanese Wisteria is very hardy. A vigorous climber, it can become destructive to the fences it surrounds. It grows rapidly to reach 10m (33ft) in height when mature.

Wisteria floribunda variegata will enhance your romantic gardens. Place it on a support like an arch, a pergola, or even on a tree.

Planting and care

Wisterias are easy plants. They grow in full sun or partial shade in any garden soil, with a preference for poor and well-drained soils. They prefer an acidic to neutral soil and may wither in chalky soil, causing the leaves to turn yellow. Plant them along a wall or train them on a pergola. Pruning is recommended to encourage better flowering. In March-April, after the last frost, when the buds have appeared, cut back the current year's branches after two or three buds and remove weak branches. Training pruning should be done in August. Wisterias can be trained as trees by training them on a 1.5 to 2m (5 to 7ft) "parasol" stake, or as ground cover. Train and direct the branches in the early years of growth.
