De Pypere's traditional bulb planter

This traditional De Pypere bulb planter, equipped with an ash handle, has an extremely efficient head. With its sharp and cutting edges, its narrow head slips between other plants and allows for planting holes to be prepared even in hard soil and in the lawn. Its blade is hand-forged in steel, with a boron steel finish. This is a lightweight, easy to handle, and durable, well-made garden tool that will last for many years.

The bulb planter is an essential hand tool when precise work is needed in flower boxes, planters, densely planted flower beds, or even in the lawn where many gardeners like to plant naturalising bulbs such as crocuses, hyacinths, tulips, daffodils, and snowdrops. It is designed for cutting, digging, and excavating. This model consists of a short handle made of natural ash, known for its hardness, with a socket where the hand-forged blade is attached, made of hardened carbon steel, resistant to shocks, twisting, and corrosion thanks to the boron steel finish. It will be easier to use in pre-moistened soil. This planter is used to create holes up to 10cm (4in) deep and 3.5 cm (1in) in diameter, which is suitable for small-sized bulbs. The blade is inserted vertically into the soil and traps the soil inside, carefully remove it from the soil and let the bulb slide to the bottom of the hole formed, before filling it with the extracted soil. The handle is compostable, the metal head is recyclable.
