A sturdy 5-tine spike-like spade, equipped with 2 footrests, perfect for digging. More efficient and ergonomic than a traditional spade, this hand tool has a very solid bole handle and a wide steel head on which the foot can rest to work and turn any type of soil, as well as gravel or stones. Its head is hand-forged with a boron steel finish.

This traditional 5-tooth sharpened spade by De Pypere is equipped with a sturdy ash handle and a head with 5 wide sharpened teeth that allow for turning any type of soil, even rocky, and for performing various small earthworks such as creating gravel paths or a solid terrace. Its T-shaped handle and the two footrests, make the work less tiring and more efficient. Its head is hand-forged from steel, with a boron steel finish. It is a durable and resistant, well-made tool that will last for many years.

Spade head dimensions: height 24 cm (9in), width 21.5 cm (9in) - Handle length: 1.10 m (4ft)

The spade is a basic tool for the gardener, landscaper, and mason. In the garden, the spade is most often used as a means to remove soil, move gravel, stones, or compost, remove snow and sand, or create a mound or embankment, for example. These are physically demanding tasks that can be made easier by using a tool that is both efficient and ergonomic. This particularly robust model consists of a handle made of sustainably managed natural ash wood, known for its hardness, with a socket where the spade head is fixed, forged from toughened steel that is resistant to shocks, torsion, and corrosion thanks to its boron steel finish. To the right and left of the handle, just above the spade head, two steel blades allow for resting the right or left foot to more easily control the spade. The T-shaped handle multiplies the force: it allows for leverage to drive the head into the soil. The handle is compostable, and the metal head is recyclable.

The traditional De Pypere range includes high-quality tools, all forged from steel and equipped with ash handles. The boron steel covering the blades is very hard and durable, making it a precious material for tools that can be heavily used in the garden.

This tool is under warranty. The warranty does not cover handles or grips, only the metal parts, except consumables (screws, springs, others), and within the scope of normal use.

Directions for use This 5-pronged sharpened spade is designed to move, loosen, cultivate, and break the soil deeply and turn it over. It is much better suited than the spade for working on stony, clayey, or heavy and compacted soils. This tool is also used to remove weeds. In the garden, this hand tool is most often used to remove soil, move gravel, stones, or compost, remove snow and sand, or build a mound or slope, for example.
