This 20-tooth flat wire broom, equipped with a hard wood handle and a mirror-polished stainless steel head, is a sturdy and durable tool, perfect for collecting autumn leaves, lawn clippings, surface soil scraping, and moss removal from the short grass meadow. Of course, unlike plastic leaf brooms, you will keep this tool indefinitely, which is great because, like all their RHS-approved stainless steel tools, this broom is guaranteed for life by Burgon & Ball.

This Burgon & Ball 20-tooth flat tine leaf rake has the specificity of being equipped with a long FSC-certified hardwood handle. This extra reach makes gardening behind borders easier. It is truly a pleasure to use, as the flat tines collect leaves and debris without piercing them, making it the perfect rake to keep your lawn impeccable, a true English lawn! The soft and tightly packed round tines are excellent for picking up and removing moss, thatch, and lawn debris. The flat head, full of tines, is perfectly shaped to reach corners, and its flexibility will truly help you get the job done in half the time. The stainless steel of this lawn rake is extremely rust-resistant, so it will remain shiny and beautiful for years to come. This rake, with its 20 consolidated tines reinforced by a distribution bar to prevent tine bending, has the advantage of not damaging the soil, paved or tiled surfaces, or the lawn, while reducing fatigue and effort for optimal ease of use. It allows for light scarifying of the lawn, meaning it dislodges moss that tends to develop in the damper and shaded areas of the lawn, or it can be used to collect small pruning debris.

* FSC is an international eco-label guaranteeing that the wood comes from sustainably managed forests.

The English are known for being the reference in gardening (if not in cuisine), especially when it comes to lawns. Promesses de fleurs has chosen the English company Burgon & Ball for the quality of its materials and its soon-to-be tricentennial steel manufacturing methods. The company has been working with steel in Sheffield since 1730, starting with a patent for solid steel sheep shears. The production of garden shears and equipment quickly surpassed that of sheep shears, but Burgon & Ball stainless steel tools are officially approved by the Royal Horticultural Society - probably the ultimate reward in the gardening industry.

The steel used for Burgon & Ball tools is carbon alloyed to give it strength and chromium to prevent rust. Finding the precise balance between chromium and carbon, different for each part of the tool, is crucial. Heat treatment allows for precisely the right hardness of steel for each tool. Too hard, and the metal can break or chip; not hard enough, and it will bend or lose its sharpness. The thickness of the steel used also depends on the tool. This flat tine rake requires a very thin steel thickness and a greater bending capacity than a knife. The thickness of the steel also affects the weight, so it's a balance that the Burgon & Ball company, with its almost 300 years of experience, has validated to ensure that its tools are both effective and enjoyable to use.

Directions for use The flat leaf rake is a very useful tool for maintaining a well-groomed appearance to the lawn and garden in general, especially in autumn when the trees shed their leaves, leaving a significant amount of dead leaves on the lawn, terrace, and pathways. This rake also allows for light scarification of the lawn, which means removing the moss that tends to develop in the damper, shaded areas of the grass, as well as collecting small pruning debris. Prepare a large bag for green waste or a wheelbarrow to store and transport them. You can dispose of them in the compost pile, gather them at the base of certain frost-sensitive plants for protection from the cold, or take them to the waste disposal site. To maintain the tool's good condition, we recommend cleaning it with a stiff brush after each use and storing it in a dry place. A sturdy leather cord allows for hanging the rake when it is not in use, neatly stored in the shed.
