A solid, handy, and rather lightweight tool. This Senlis spade is equipped with a handle made of ash wood and a spade blade made of slightly incurved tempered steel. It is designed to work and turn over light soils and sandy terrains, and to prepare planting holes for bushes and trees.

This 28 cm Senlis spade by Spear & Jackson, equipped with an ash wood handle and a tempered steel spade blade, is a lightweight and handy, good-quality garden tool. It is designed to work and turn light soils and sandy terrains, and to prepare planting holes, but also to perform various small earthworks.

Dimensions of the spade blade: height 28cm x width 19.5cm - Handle length: 100 cm - Handle ending in a knob - Weight: 1.730 Kg

The spade is an essential tool, designed for lifting, turning, loosening and crumbling the soil at depth, in light soils and in small areas. Fertiliser (well-decomposed compost, organic fertiliser, horse manure...) can be incorporated into the soil at the same time as it is turned over. The spade, with its sharp edges, can also be used for digging, cutting roots, or digging up vegetable plants (leeks, potatoes, carrots, turnips). This model consists of an ash wood handle, a wood known for its hardness and lightness, with a metal socket where the blade made of tempered steel is fixed, resistant to shocks, torsion, and corrosion thanks to its finish. The handle is compostable, the metal head is recyclable.
