Description

Originally from damp, wooded mountains in the Far East, Carex siderosticta 'Variegata' forms a fairly dense rosette composed of wide, bright green leaves, striated and marginated with silver bands.

Unfortunately, this superb foliage does not persist in winter, but regrows very early in spring and regains all its decorative interest from April onwards. The thin and few spikes do not add any more value to the plant.

Easy to grow, it appreciates partial shade and rich, light and moist soil. Plant it alongside hosta, ferns, and heucheras.
